MATING DISRUPTION PHEROMONES

PINE T PRO BALL

Mating disruption pheromone against the pine processionary moth (Thaumetopoea pityocampa).
Composition: (Z) -13-Hexadecen-11-yn-1-yl acetate (4% w/w), formulated as an aqueous emulsion in oil (EO) in biodegradable gelatin shootable balls (paintball type).

Where to use it?
Recommended in all types of pine plantations and other conifers (alignments, formations, groups, groves, single tree, etc.), in urban and suburb areas, parks and gardens, recreational and sports areas, golf courses and others, to make difficult the encounters between adult forms (females and males) of processionary moth (Thaumetopoea pityocampa) in order to minimize their mating, and thereby reducing the populations of subsequent generations of these stinging caterpillars.

How to use it?
It is applied by “paintball” markers, localized on the south side of the trees. Dosage must be adjusted depending on the type of formation and the pest level (max.: 400 balls/Ha). A single annual application covers the entire flight season of the adult populations.

BOX T PRO PRESS

Specific mating disruption pheromone against box tree moth (Cydalima perspectalis).
Composition: Z-11-Hexadecenal (7% w/w), formulated as an encapsulated suspension (CS).

Where to use it?
Recommended use in all types of ornamental box plantations (single tree, hedges, borders and forest formations) of historical and urban gardens, and woodlands. It disturbs the encounters between adult forms (females and males) of the box tree moth and, minimizing their mating, and thereby reducing the populations of subsequent generations of caterpillars.

How to use it?
It is applied by foam spray droplet inside the box trees. Dosage must be adjusted depending on the type of the box tree formation and the pest level (general dosage: 1 g for every 2 linear meters).
It requires two annual applications (this pest has two flight and mating periods per year).

This strategy achieves high level of efficacy, which can be strengthened at fall and winter by standard high volume foliar spray applications with the natural barrier solutions WINCHESTER® or JABATO® after eggs’ hatching, on the neonatal caterpillars (L-I to L-III).
